Conservation area design
There’s a pleasing simplicity to this design – the existing materials of the Edwardian house are used to extend the kitchen and dining space. An enlarged window provides not only a case of showcasing traditional construction, but incorporating a piece of furniture into the architecture. The window seat idea also provides a great way of finding accessible storage space.
The side-return extension provides an uninterrupted strip of natural light from the existing reception rooms, which are opened up, to the rear garden façade, with the necessary roof drainage well-concealed. With an excellent construction team in place early, this has been an extremely quick route to construction breaking ground 4 weeks after planning consent.
